Mandurah Basketball Association is pleased to anno Mandurah Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Vlad Alava to the position of Head Coach of our Cachet Homes Mandurah Magic Womenโ€™s NBL1 team for the next 3 seasons. Vlad is an experienced and successful coach in both WA and NSW, having previously won Championships in both states as Head Coach in the WSBL and Waratah Leagues. Vlad also has extensive coaching experience in the WNBL with the Perth Lynx, West Coast Waves and Sydney Uni Flames teams, as well as WA and NSW State teams. He is well versed and connected in the sport across the entire country having recently operated his own successful player agency business. MBA President Adam Ahern said "We are excited to be able to appoint a coach of Vladโ€™s calibre and look forward to working together as he leads our strong womenโ€™s program." "I'd like to thank Adam, Rod and Amanda for the opportunity to lead the Magic," said Alava. "Despite the challenges of coming in this late in the preparation, the Magic organization and I have an identical vision of where the program needs to go in the next couple of years and I look forward to working towards achieving our common goals." "Closing the successful chapter of player management is made easier by my excitement to return to coaching with the Magic. I'm thrilled to be part of the Club this year and beyond and can't wait to roll the sleeves up and get going." As per FIBA regulations, Vlad Alava has suspended his Player Agent license in order to accept this position with the Mandurah Magic.

Our staff will be in touch with you to answer any additional questions. We hope that we will be able to schedule some competition opportunities for the age groups affected later on in the year and we will liaise with Associations to determine the best way to do this. A decision on Week 3 and 4 fixtures will be made by the end of the week. Our community's safety and health is a priority, so we will continue to follow the latest guidelines and requirements. Thank you to all associations, clubs, players, families and the broader basketball community for your understanding. We share in your disappointment that a great weekend showcasing our Country teams has to be cancelled. WABL 3x3 Champions! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’ช Congratulations WABL 3x3 Champions! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’ช Congratulations to our U18 3x3 Girls who once again reigned supreme and took out the WABL 3x3 Championship in their division yesterday at Warwick Stadium. Congratulations Jaimie, Kaitlyn and Sydney. A big shout out to our other U18 Girls team who also competed in the 3x3 yesterday and qualified for the semi-finals and were just one point away from making it an all-Magic Grand Final.
