Mandurah Basketball have been working with City of Mandurah this afternoon, and taken advice from Basketball WA in regards to our return to basketball, following this weekend’s 3 day lockdown.
As per the BWA guidelines of no competitions for this week, and in line with State Government restrictions which will be lifted at midnight Saturday morning May 1st, we have postponed the commencement of the Ladies daytime competition by one week and all team contacts notified.
Additionally, all WABL training and Development Programs which were scheduled for this week have been cancelled. The wearing of masks to train and 20 person capacity at the venues restricted our ability to run these sessions during the week. We will update everyone on the programs currently scheduled for Saturday May 1st over the course of this week.
We are currently scheduled for NBL1 away games on Saturday night in Belmont, we are awaiting further advice on this game and any restrictions that may be in place. Our teams will still be able to train this week under the guidelines currently in place. Likewise in regards to WABL games scheduled for Sunday (all at away venues), we will update all stakeholders with information as it comes to hand.
Some MBA staff will be working from home over the week however we will endeavor to have the office staffed each day by a staff member to attend to phone enquiries only. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or for any enquiries and we will answer them as quickly as possible.
Please note the MARC will be closed to the public on Tuesday April 27th and the pools only will re-open on Wednesday 28th April. The courts & fitness centre will not be available for training this week.
Once again, we value the health and safety of our members incredibly and will work with our membership, Basketball WA and City of Mandurah to ensure we can return to basketball as quickly and safely as possible.
